Dr. Debra Ravasia, MD, FACOG, Board Certified
Dr. Ravasia is founder and medical director of Ajuva Medical Spa. She is an obstetrician/gynecologist who has had nineteen years of experience in women's health. Dr. Ravasia started Women's Health Connection, PS, a comprehensive traditional gynecology clinic here in Spokane in 2005, and extended her practice to include Ajuva Medical Spa, a wellness clinic that includes medical aesthetics, weight loss, nutrition and hormone optimization, in 2006.

Dr. Ravasia completed medical school in Saskatchewan, Canada, and completed her obstetrics and gynecology residency at the Foothills Hospital, University of Calgary in 2000. She is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology in both the USA and Canada. This means she has completed examinations necessary to provide a high standard of care within her field. She worked in North Dakota as a busy general OB/Gyn before moving to Spokane with her husband and four children to be closer to family, mountains, and a great school for her children.

Dr. Ravasia has received additional comprehensive training and certifications in medical aesthetics, weight loss and menopausal management. She is a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. She is also a certified member of the American Society of Bariatric Physicians, and or the National American Menopause Society. She is passionate about delivering comprehensive and integrated health and wellness care to women here in Spokane, WA.

Dr. W. John Bullis, MD, FACOG, Board Certified
Dr. Bullis is currently the Medical Director of Ajuva Medical and Day Spa. He is board-certified as a gynecological surgeon by the American Board of Ostetrics and Gynecology and has had a keen interest in cosmetic procedures since 2002. He is an active member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgeons, the American Association of Cosmeto-Gynecology, the American Academy Gynecological Laparoscopists, the American Urogynecological Society, and is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. Dr. Bullis has participated in several advanced liposuction training courses and is the only physician in the Northwest certified to perform the Vaser Hi Def™ procedure of fine body sculpting. He is also introducing the Awake Tummy Tuck procedure to the Spokane area and is energetically seeking to broaden his knowledge and expertise in all areas of cosmetic surgery and anti-aging medicine.

Dr. Bullis' professional career began in 1991, after he graduated from the Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C. His specialty training was in the U.S. Army at Madigan Army Medical Center in Ft. Lewis, WA. As a general Ob-Gyn physician in the Army, he returned home to the Washington, D.C. area, where he served at Fort Belvoir, Virginia and at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. At Walter Reed, Dr. Bullis was able to focus primarily on urogynecology and pelvic reconstructive surgery and minimally invasive gynecologic surgery. After leaving the Army in 1999, he joined a practice in Pinehurst, NC, where he continued to focus on minimally invasive gynecologic surgery and urogynecology and performed the first Total Laparoscopic Hysterectomy in that region and was among the first physicians in the country to perform minimally-invasive, outpatient urinary incontinence surgery. Dr. Bullis has been an "early adopter" of new superior technologies throughout his career and he continues that trend here in Spokane.

 

Kristine Schmedding, RD, B.S. ExMet
A registered dietitian who earned her Bachelor's of Science degree in Exercise Physiology and Metabolism through W.S.U.

She has been with Ajuva Medical Weight Loss since the program started in July 2008. Prior to that she worked in Cardiac Rehab and spent a year of rotations in various healthcare settings including Surgical Bariatrics and working with low calorie programs.

She loves living in Spokane spending time with her husband, family and going to Priest Lake.

 


Kaela Smith, one of our Aestheticians, recently moved to Spokane in November 2008 from Billings, Montana, where she received her Aesthetics license. While in Billings, she had the opportunity to work for a year as an Aesthetician, at one of the top spas in the state. She attended MSUB and U of M for four years, where she studied biology and chemistry.

Keala loves spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoys traveling, and the outdoors. She is glad to have found her passion in Aesthetics, and looks forward to getting back to doing what she love!
